The boys!
Hola from Honduras!  We've survived our first week in our new home. It's been a loonnnngg week!  The boys are over the moon about being with dad so that's the best part.  Our typical day consists of long walks on the golf course, picking limes right off the trees, and lots of rough housing.  The boys have been getting up at the crack of dawn when Jose leaves for work and are rearing to go!  I have been working on becoming domesticated.  Washing dishes by hand, hanging clothes on a clothes line and sweeping dirt and dog hair off the tile floor several times a day.  When Jose found a pair of his pants in the dirt in the back yard he decided to get me a dryer.  I'm not complaining.  Everett is picking up the language already saying "Hola! Como Estas?"  to everyone he sees.  Jordan has met a few kids here and there but most of the kids in our neighborhood are on holiday until later this week.  The house is beautiful and has most of the comforts of what we are used to except that today Jose found and killed two scorpions inside our house.  We have very limited furniture but will be adding to it as time goes by.  The shopping in this town is a bit limited and we have to travel about an hour to get to the big city over the mountains.  Last night was an experience - we went out in town to some parties hosted by co-workers of Jose's.  Fireworks everywhere - and we even blew up some dynomite - yes the real deal....  and it can be purchased at the roadside fireworks stand- crazy!  They have a custom they call "burning the old man" - at midnight they light a scarecrow type figure that is filled with firecrackers and it burns until its gone.  This symbolizes saying goodbye to all the bad of the old year.   We were with some local Honduran people at their "Pulperia" (like a little store) at midnight and got to experience this custom.  Jordan ran around with all the other kids lighting fireworks and having a ball!

  5. Happy New Year! MoirĂ©...you are definite an amazing lady! The posting of the “Torres” in Hondo is awesome. I am so happy to hear that you all are doing great and things are coming through for you all! It’s amazing on how God works, love it! I guess Honda (as we used to call it) is changing in so many ways. By what you are saying I can see that Hondo has changed a lot since my last visit many years ago. The house is beautiful and big---Wow! I see that Jordan and Everett are just having a ball and enjoying “just” been with Mom and dad (no matter what, I love it). God Bless you all! We love you all and if there is anything that we can do to make things better, “just call us!” I love the hanging of clothes on the balcony, awesome! However the dryer sounds better, especially for mom…LOL! Take care and we love you all! JoAnn is ready to travel, passport in hand and just waiting on time off (I might come along also)…God Bless you all, love! Just love your new vehicle (carry all)…

  7. Happy New Year! So glad you started this blog, what a great way to keep everyone updated on your adventures in Honduras! Your new home looks amazing and the boys look happy. Thought about you last night, I was watching a show that featured lobster divers from the Mosquito Coast in Honduras. Apparently a very dangerous profession.
